Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUPA)

Bourn House

Location: 4th Floor, Bourn Building, Coventry, CV1 2TG

Project Overview

OCR, the UK exam board of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, has upgraded its West Midlands base with a move to a carbon zero-ready office in the centre of Coventry.

OCR completed the move to the Bourn building in April 2024, giving the organisation the perfect environment in which to grow sustainably while reducing its environmental impact and running costs. This included the fit-out achieving a SKA ‘Gold’ Rating

The Bourn office gives OCR a modern base for its growth, with the use of smart technology, extensive wi-fi coverage, mobile access control, and dual network capacity. OCR worked with design consultants Overbury, and the office is centered around environmental sustainability and modern hybrid working, with green design features.

Additionally, the SKA assessment demonstrates a commitment to creating sustainable and healthy workspaces. The assessment included measures related to energy efficiency, sustainable procurement of materials and reduction of waste diverted to landfill.

The Overbury team showed great commitment to the project. We love to see the level of detail put into the design to incorporate sustainability.
